francisco from san francisco's public schools. the superintendent of schools you're going to hear from in a minute, he was there, i know ter theresa sparks was there, i was so proud of san francisco in being there because the superintendent, he's, you can tell he's a teacher because he took control of that room. there was a thousand people in that room, he had them all raise their hands to quiet them down, it was beautiful. you could see the teacher in him. but i was so proud of being in san francisco because the kids -- kids are kids -- they were warned, you need to be respectful, you need to be respectful of the children that are being depicted in this film, please don't laugh at inappropriate moments, that kind of thing, and the kids were great. the kids were silent and crying when things were really tough and when things were going well for the kids depicted in the film they were cheering. it was a really, really wonderful moment. it was a wonderful way to start off this summit. i'm sure our superintendent will be talking abou

one of the fun things about san francisco and we always have something going on. we had the beta breakers and break the city in half for the runners and manage the emergency response for that. we had the gollen gate anniversary and remember that off the bridge and the u.s. open and the pride parade. and then we took a brief break in july and in august started with some of our exercising as part of the fleet week activity and i highlight some of those here, so with the america cup's races which we had been planning for starting at the beginning of the year. three successful exercises in preparation for the first week of racing that took place in august and continued in october and as the mayor mentioned october was incredibly busy for us with america's cup and the fleet week activities we had going on, to additional exercises. we had a senior leader seminar and a disaster aid presentation on marina green. other things that took place that the mayor mentioned the bluegrass and castro street parade and a finer and giants game and lead to the playoffs and all happened

it takes time in san francisco. and it's hard to do something. what happens to the john muir property we expect an idea what have the clean-up will be in a year or year-and-a-half. and as that starts to become clear, the commission can look at what do with the property. we won't wait eight years to decide what to do with the property. as far as the mou, in may when we talked about, there was concern as rec and park that day didn't have ideas to offer. i think we have come well past that. they are doing things. there are things they have underway at the lake. i think there is more material now. we didn't do any work on the mou between then and now. we wanted to have something to grasp. and we are there now. and i think having the bond money available is one piece of that. i think the future of the john muir property is something else. it's going to be a recreational use, that's what we are thinking about the clean-up for, and what is the best use and need to hear from the public and rec and park. and how do we define that relationship. and we have
